He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Shorter and Pauline Conner Shorter Rakes. He is survived by: his wife Claudia Shorter (Meise); his children, Kaitlin Shorter, Cindy Blevins (Garry Blevins) and Kim Shorter (Scott Conley); his sister-in-law Susan Hill (Edward Hill); and his children, David Hill and Deborah Robinson (Hill).
