He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Montgomery and Winnie Hartless Montgomery; his brothers, Richard, Frazier and Ernest Montgomery; his daughter Shelby Cavell; and his granddaughter Rebecca Robertson.
He is survived by: his daughter Patricia; his son-in-law Michael Lookingbill; his son Robert Montgomery; his stepdaughter Gina Few; and his sisters, Patricia Rightenour, Ivory and Donna Montgomery. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and 45 great-grandchildren.
