It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Paul Vernon Merkel of Westminster, Maryland, who passed away on March 7, 2021, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Eugene and Margaret Croft Merkel; and his wife Margaret Emma Finnegan Merkel. He is survived by: his children, Verna-Leigh Kraus (Michael), Paul E. Merkel II (Victoria) and George Carroll Merkel (Laura). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
