He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Michael and Nettie Pearl Rhoten; his wife Bettie Lee Horton Rhoten; his siblings, Michael Rhoten and Juanita Grimm; and his parents-in-law, Carvel and Zelda Horton.
He is survived by: his son Dean Bruce Rhoten (Diane); his grandchildren, Linda Lee Bowen (Richard), Tanya Lynn McDonald (Terry), Terren McDonald and Talynn McDonald; his stepgranddaughter Alyson Agee; his sister Janet Bare; and his siblings-in-law, Jessie James Horton and Margaret Hess (Sis). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
