He was predeceased by: his parents, Mamie Spangler and Melvin W. Garrett; his former wife Betty Garrett (Elaine Primrose); his siblings, Rosella Patterson, Thelma Schlerf and Wilbur Garrett; and his granddaughter Cori Hurst.
He is survived by: his daughters, Debra Arbaugh (George) of Westminster, Donna Eyler (Bill) of Gettysburg, Betsy Hurst (Dave) of Westminster and Sondra Tasker (Gary) of Oakland, MD; and his brother Sterling Garrett of Westminster. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
