It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Smith of Westminster, Maryland, who passed away on April 14, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Smith to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William David Hesson, Jr. and Mary Hesson Krebs (Staub); her husband Dennis Mitchell "Denny" Smith, Jr.; and her granddaughter Emily Watkins. She is survived by: her children, David M. Smith of McSherrystown, PA and Lisa; her son-in-law Tim Watkins of Westminster; her grandchildren, Tyler Watkins (Ashlee), Megan Watkins and Connor Smith; and her siblings, William Hesson (Mary) and Ruth Starner (Dean). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to either St. Benjamin's Lutheran Church., or The Sandra R. Berman Heart Institute at University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center, which provides cardiac care to our community at https://www.umms.org.
