With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jeffrey K. Okamitsu of Westminster, Maryland, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 3, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Jeffrey shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Jeffrey farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He is survived by: his parents, Taketo Okamitsu and Dorothea Nomura (Okamitsu); his wife Winifred Okamitsu of Maryland; his stepsons, Vincent Lafferty and Stephen Lafferty of New Jersey; his siblings, Liane Okamitsu of Hawaii and Kimo Okamitsu of California; his nephew Alika Okamitsu; and his niece Kanani Okamitsu.
Dr. Okamitsu's career began in academia, where he quickly gained recognition for his groundbreaking contributions to the field.
