He was predeceased by: his parents, James Elwood Burris and Miriam Esther Matthews Burris; and his son Ryan Lee Burris. He is survived by: his wife Jaylene Carney Burris; his daughter Erin Burris Galloway (Brent); his granddaughters, Emma Clare and Megan Riley Galloway of Raleigh, NC; and his siblings, Joseph Glenn Burris (Patricia Thomas Burris) of Eden, MD and Marie Wharton Burge (Brian) of Middletown, DE.
