It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Newton Dawson of Westminster, Maryland, born in Cresaptown, Maryland, who passed away on September 14, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Sandra Thompson Dawson; his parents, Clifford Lee and Nola Mae Robinette Dawson; and his siblings, Bud Dawson, Sonny Dawson, Austin Dawson and Mescal Holler.
He is survived by: his daughters, Wendy Lynn Hardesty (Scott) of Westminster and Erin Nicole Dawson of Keymar; his grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew Hardesty and Jordan Hardesty; his great grandchild Lucian Hardesty; and his sisters, Ethel Trott of Baltimore and Barbara Rolfs of North Carolina. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and other family members.
