He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Barnes and Katherine Barnes (Danner); his wife Shirley Mae Barnes (VanHorne); his daughter Sheryl Jean Walker; and his sister Dorothy Schaefer.
He is survived by: his son Charles E. "Chuck" Barnes, Jr. (Teresa) of Westminster; his grandchildren, Carrie, Rachelle, Braden, Eric Walker, C. J. III, Jacob, Brittany and Jared Barnes; and his great grandchildren, Alexis, Gauge, Lakelyn, Traxton, Brinklee, Aden, Kamden and Ella Mae.
