He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Utz and Lillie Utz (Esworthy). He is survived by: his children, Patricia Utz, David Utz, Jr., Belinda Utz, Dora Manning (Todd) and Callie Jennings (Larry); and his sisters, Brenda Milburn (John), Karen Cook (Mike) and Terri Gontarek (Wally). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 4 nephews, 1 niece and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
