He is survived by: his wife Brenda Roop; and his children, John J. Roop (Jena) of Harpers Ferry, WV, Rebecca Stem (Billy) of Westminster, Daniel Roop Jr. (Anna Crowl) of Westminster and Michael Roop (Robin) of Westminster.
