It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clara C. Schaeffer of Westminster, Maryland, who passed away on June 10, 2023, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Vincent Valianti and Josephine Valianti; her children, Dino Valianti, Anna Lolli, Dominic Valianti, Mary Caple, Reno Valianti, Romeo Valianti and Louis Valianti; and her husband Richard C. Schaeffer, Sr..

She is survived by: her children, Barbara J. Horneff (Don), Richard C. Schaeffer, Jr. (Stephanie), Robert L. Schaeffer (Diane) and Susan M. Molfino (late Ernesto); her grandchildren, Eric Disharoon (Gina), Grant Disharoon (Leona), Peter Schaeffer (Ashley), Gino Molfino (Ashley), Matthew Schaeffer, Mia Molfino Posner (Stephen), Patrick Schaeffer (Sarah), Jamie Brown and Lauren Horneff; her great grandchildren, Elijah Disharoon, Adah Jane Disharoon, Karson Fahey, Lily Posner, Eli Posner, Poppy Molfino, Jordyn Brown, Lola Schaeffer, Antonio Disharoon, Ruah Molfino, Renn Posner and Noa Posner; and her brother-in-law David Herting. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to BridgingLife Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster MD 21157.

“She was a wonderful woman. I’m not sure I would have made it through my teenage years without her guidance. Always willing to stop what she was doing and spend time with me and/or my mom when we came knocking on the front door. I remember sitting at the kitchen table in awe watching her make fresh pasta and let’s face it…… no better lasagna ever was created than Clara Schaeffer’s.”
