She was predeceased by: her parents, Dana Kyker Jr. and Anne Elizabeth Haines. She is survived by: her husband William Emory Smith; her children, Dana "Dan" Patterson (Jana), Kimberly Ann Hilton and Michael Patrick Patterson; her grandchildren, Jonah Patterson, Seth Patterson, Isabella Windsor, Michael Patterson, Margaret Patterson and Benjamin Hilton; and her siblings, Dana "Butch" Kyker Jr. II (Susan), Ronald "Buck" Kyker (Anne) and Tamara "Tami" Zentz (Mark). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandnieces, grandnephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Cheryl's name may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
