She is survived by: her husband Ronald Lee Kershner; her children, Amy Lauren Kershner and Joseph Hartley Kershner (Dawn); her grandchildren, Lilybee Wilcox, Henry Wilcox and Emmett Kershner; and her brother Gail Courtney (Diana). She is also survived by her children and grandchildren.

Her career trajectory saw her work as a teacher, an editor, a social worker for various organizations, and ultimately the Chief Operating Officer for the Fairhaven Retirement Community and Copper Ridge Alzheimer's Care Facility.
