He was predeceased by: his parents, Max Cherelstein and Shirley Melman; and his stepfather Joe Melman. He is survived by: his wife Karen Cherelstein; his children, Alex Cherelstein and Blair Cherelstein; his brother Steven Cherelstein (Stephanie); his siblings-in-law, Shayne Hoffman and David Askin; his nephew Steven Askin (Heather); his niece Rachel Askin (Nick Bonofiglio); his aunt Gloria Cherelstein; his uncle Lou Shapiro; and his pets, Chewie and Reese. He is also survived by neighbors and friends.
