He was predeceased by: his parents, John Louis and Helen Dodson Heard; his children, Albert "Ricky", Cynthia "Cindy" and Gregory "Jumbo"; and his siblings, Arthur "Mouse", Lemuel "Red", Morris "Sonny", Cora Savoy Muschette "Sis", Hester Hagens and Helen Lancaster.
He is survived by: his wife Annie; his children, Alvin "Ball" (Mary Ann), Elroy (Leatrice), Marvin (Cora Lee), Connie (Stanley), Chandra "Chaney" (Harry), Calvin, Carolyn (Charles), Rex "Keypie", Sylvia "Anita", Dorothy "Suzanne", Julian, Wayne "Lud" (Bea), Allison and Tracy; his stepsons, Jerome (Arina) and Michael (Leonie); his sisters, Mildred McKinney and Dorrie Wiggins; and his close friends, Milton Montgomery and Bobbie Key. He is also survived by 40 grandchildren and a "heard" of great and great-great grandchildren.
