He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Halper and Marvene Orenstein Halper; and his grandparents, Esther, Bill Halper, Marvin and Elise Orenstein.

He is survived by: his aunts, Linda Orenstein and Temme Orenstein Schooler (Allan Leonard Schooler); his great-aunt Alice Orenstein Kaplan; his cousins, Jason Schooler, Scott, Shelley Kaplan, Randy Kaplan, Paul Orlando, Mark, Karen Kaplan, Terry and Jack Silverman; and his pet Misty Blue.
