He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Cox and Pearl Cox; his former wife Shirley Cox; his sons, Mark and Keith Cox; and his siblings, Victor Lee Cox and Goldie "Gae" Whitmore.

He is survived by: his wife Coleen Kay Cox; his sons, Gregg Cox (Stephanie) and Scott Cox (Renata); his stepdaughters, Tabitha Berryman (Todd) and Tonya Gilchrist (Nathan); and his grandchildren, Zachary (Alyssa), Ryan, Daniel and Deacon.
