He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Ann Payne; his children, Barbara Zahera, Marlon Marhette, Andrew, Isaac A. Mason, Demetria Richardson-Idlebird and Theresa; his grandchildren, Alonzo Ross, Anita Stewart, Kiara Mason, Danielle Young, Jamal Young, Nichelle Simmonds (Aaron Etienne), Nikayla Simmonds-Perkins (Sean), Natesa Simmonds and Nina Simmonds; his great grandchild DeAngelo Xavier; and his sisters, Stella M. Grooms of Spotsylvania, VA and Glenda K. Mason.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lighthouse Baptist Church (3150 Middletown Rd, Waldorf, MD 20603). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
