He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond E. Nicholas, Sr. and Flora Anne Johnson Nicholas; his stepmother Louise Knoor Nicholas; his half-brother Steve Nicholas; his brother-in-law John Montgomery; and his niece Deborah Montgomery-Horlacher.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Nicholas of Vienna; his son Raymond E. Nicholas III (Estefania Vazquez); his siblings, Anne Montgomery of Great Falls, VA and Michael Nicholas (Norma); his stepsiblings, Cheryl Krauss of Falls Church, VA, Alan Major (Jackie) of Sarasota, FL and Brad Major (Karen) of Plant City, FL.; his nieces and nephews, Ben Eskridge, Sam Major, Wesley Major, Jonathan Major, Brian Montgomery, James Nicholas, Michael Nicholas Jr., Emily Gilmer and Katelin Major; and his brother-in-law Gary Eskridge (Pam) of Galestown.
