He is survived by: his parent Helen May Gilbert Spires; his children, Jason Spires (Anna) of Jarrettsville, MD and Christie Zawisza (Mike) of Fisherville, KY; his grandchildren, Tyler, Caden, Lilija, Tegan, Sam, Noah, Alli and Jane; his significant other Shari Carver; his siblings, David Spires (Nadine) of Granville, OH and Steven Spires (Donna) of Thomasville, PA; and his sister-in-law Vera Westbrook of New Albany, OH.
