He was predeceased by: his former wife Kathryn Mason Thorne; and his parents, Elizabeth "Bessie" Marie (Smith) and Edwin Wallace Thorne. He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Dianne Boyd (Douglas) of Lothian, MD and Sharon Kaye Thorne-Sulima (James) of Churchton, MD; his grandchildren, Nicholas Sebastian Boyd and Cameron Preston Boyd of Lothian, MD.; his siblings, Cecil, Robert, Phyllis and Bessie Ann; his wife Kathy Mason; his daughter Girl Scout; and his grandchildren, Nick, Cam and Poppy.
