She is survived by: her husband Dwight Carthens, Jr.; her son Dwight Jamal Carthens (Maryland); her stepdaughter Deanna Newsom (Texas); her sisters, Deborah Young (Virginia) and Chandra Williams (Maryland); her granddaughters, Naziah Carthens and Leah Carthens (Maryland); her niece Natalie Young (Virginia); and her nephews, John Young (Pittsburgh) and Johnathan Williams (Maryland). She is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.
