She is survived by: her siblings, Arthur, Samuel Jr., Josiah, John, James, Eddie, Elizabeth, Mary Smith Riddick, Rebecca, Hezekiah, Fannie Mae Smith Terrell, Ruth Smith Lassiter, Alfred, Sr. and Moses Smith; her niece Wilhelmina; her husband Earl R. Mitchell, Sr. (Mary); her grandchildren, Camilla Y. Mitchell and Earl R. Mitchell, Jr.; her great-niece Deena; her godchildren, Phyllis, Timothy and Mika; her daughter Camilla; her niece Nina Crump; her daughters, Phyllis and Deena; her great-niece Mika (Timothy); and her siblings-in-law, Baron Young (Lisa) and Sharon Young. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and their children.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Evangel Cathedral (13901 Central Ave, Upper Marlboro, MD 20774). A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the family of Gertrude C. Mitchell.
