She is survived by: her husband Thomas Johnston; her children, Deborah Cornelius, Dion Cornelius (Maritere) and Michelle Bascoe (Ray); her grandchildren, Brandon Cornelius, Kiyah Cornelius, D'Andre Cornelius, Jeremiah Bascoe and Jada Bascoe; her siblings, Bernard Newman (Stella) and Marie Monroe; and her close friend Dottie Whitt. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives, and many friends.
