He was predeceased by: his mother Bernice Jenkins, Sr.; and his brother Andre. He is survived by: his father Andrew; his wife Michelle R. Howard; his son Stephen DeQuincy Jenkins; his sisters, Bernita Williams, Andris Jenkins and Arylin Cowan of Alabama; his aunts, Rosa Everett, Gussie Jenkins, Maude Jenkins, Margaret Moore, Valeria Davis and Jeanette Rivers; and his uncle Leon Rivers. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
