He was predeceased by: his parent Truman M.; and his siblings, Ethel Bange, Donald Wetzel, Wayne Wetzel and Truman Wetzel.
He is survived by: his parent Mildred Marie Clemson Wetzel; his spouse Katherine Sinnott Wetzel; his children, Dianne L. Wetzel (Dennis Rigler) of Union Bridge, Richard M. Wetzel Sr. of Union Bridge and James E. Wetzel (Susan) of Union Bridge; his siblings, Judy Wolf, Raymond Wetzel (Patricia) and Earl Wetzel Sr.; his wife Joyce Wetzel; and also Roy C. Wetzel. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.
