It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Sue Thurman (Trappe, Maryland), who passed away on December 23, 2019, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wallace Carter and Lucy Carter; her husband Lawrence Minish Thurman; and her brothers, Franklin, Merle and Lloyd Carter.
She is survived by: her children, Rebecca Sue Faulkner (Jay) of Trappe, MD, Peggy Ann Cunningham (Jeff) of Elkridge, MD and Richard Carter Thurman (Brenda) of Vienna, MD.; her sister-in-law Harriet Jennings of Shelbyville, KY; her grandchildren, Benjamin Thurman (Natalie) of Mableton, GA, Jason Baynard (Casey) of Trappe, MD, Karen Theil of Boise, ID, Richard Thurman, Jr. (Tina) of Lewes, DE, Lauren Blunt (Randy) of Centreville, MD, Gavin Cunningham of Washington, DC, Chad Thurman (Brittany) of Seaford, DE and Jennifer Cunningham of Seattle, WA; her great grandchildren, Colin, Christopher Baynard, Adelyn Thurman, Morgan Theil, Brooklyn, Noah Thurman, Rylie and Emma Thurman; and her friend Jeff Blakemore of Leesburg, FL. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorial donations be made to Talbot Hospice House, 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD.
