He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore J. Potthast, Sr. and Marie Burke Corcoran; and his brother John Potthast. He is survived by: his wife Constance "Sugar" Fava Potthast; his children, Catherine "Cappy" A. Potthast (Philip Lohrey, Jr.), John "Jack" A. Potthast (Ann Aronowitz), Mark I. Potthast and Marialena "Mia" Walsh (Brian); his grandchildren, Andrew Potthast, Ben Potthast, Samantha Potthast, Katherine "Kate" Walsh, Emma Potthast, Sara Walsh and Viviana Potthast; and his siblings-in-law, Frank "Cookie" Fava and Rose Perla Fava.
