He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Anne Zeiler; and his siblings, Charles Zeiler, Francis Zeiler, William Zeiler, Elizabeth Zeiler and John Zeiler.

He is survived by: his daughters, Melinda Z. Whitehurst (David), Christine L. Smith (Laura) and Diane Z. Barnard (Robert); and his grandchildren, Matt Davis (Stephanie), Casey Davis (Ben Becraft), Tim Davis (Rebecca), Matthew Whitehurst (Jennifer), Dan Whitehurst (Meghan) and Jay Smith (Natalie). He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren.
