He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Reynolds Irvin; his brother Thomas Irvin (Debbie); and his father Harry. He is survived by: his children, Russell Irvin (Cheri) and Jennifer Belt (Donald); his grandchildren, Tim Irvin (Lindsay), Alex Pittman, Chris Pittman, Allyson Belt and Lily Belt; his great grandchildren, Axell Irvin and Carson Irvin; and his stepsister Stephanie Schmidt. He is also survived by great father to his two children along with being a wonderful grandfather and great grandfather.
