He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard A. Howard and Helen B. Howard; his wife Ruth E. Howard; his daughter Kristen E. Barnett; and his sister Beverly H. Gill.
He is survived by: his son D. Gregory Howard (Kathi M. Howard); his grandson Carl A. "Chip" Howard (Mara L. Howard); and his great grandchild Samuel O. G. Howard. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
