He was predeceased by: his child Gregory Joseph Simons. He is survived by: his friend Betty Steinbacher; his children, Catherine Anne Jones and Mary Elisabeth Connell; his grandchildren, Laura, Brian Spencer, Lindsay and Natalie Connell; and his siblings, Barbara Smith, Diane Richardson and Richard Simons.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Immaculate Heart of Mary School, 8501 Loch Raven Blvd. Towson, MD 21286.
