He was predeceased by: his son Thomas Kovalchek; and his stepdaughter Helen Louisa Chelchowski. He is survived by: his parents, Kasper Kovalchek and Katherine Kovalchek (Kompardo); his spouse Dolores June Kovalchek (Handel); his children, Walter Kovalchek (Darlene), Cheryl Metzdorf (Franklin), Terri Smith (Robert), Diane Eisemann (Steven), Laurie Samples, Kieth Salamon, Pamela Dekowski (Robert) and Robin Kovalchek; his stepchildren, Barbara Joyce Ayd (Patrick) and Phyllis Ann Hopkins; his son-in-law Edward Chelchowski; and also Veronica Ann Kovalchek (Tyszko). He is also survived by 18 grand-children and 11 great-grandchildren.
