He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Jane Smith (Graham); his parents, Charles Monroe Smith and Emma Marie Smith (Ambrose); his son Roland E. Smith, Jr.; his siblings-in-law, Arthur Graham, Joe Kula, Shirley Graham and Thelma Kula; his uncle Hop; and his aunt Cass Ambrose.
He is survived by: his daughter Sandra K. Hirsch (Ed); his grandchildren, Christopher Lyn Masemore (Kasey) and Tara Lynne Colacioppo (Joe); his great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Evan Masemore, Tyler and Lilly Colacioppo; his siblings, Charles Monroe Smith, Jr. and Helen Virginia; his nieces, Patty Bowers and Susie Smith; his nephew Joe Kula; and his cousins, Vicki Ambrose and Barbara Beard.
