It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Wantz Sr. of Thurmont, Maryland, born in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 19, 2020, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert H. Wantz and Irene A. Wantz (Miller); his son Josh Wantz; his brother Robert Wantz; and his sister-in-law Kim Coblentz.
He is survived by: his sons, Michael Lee Wantz, Jr. of Thurmont and Nick Wantz of Thurmont; his siblings, Elinor Young (Rick) of Emmitsburg, Patti Wivell (Randy) of Emmitsburg, Mary Mowrey (Bill) of Orrtanna, PA, Joanie Wantz (John) of Fairfield, PA, Tommy Wantz (Kelly) of Fairfield, PA, Joyce Becker (Steve) of Denton, MD and Lisa Dayberry (Marty) of Bermudian Springs, PA; his siblings-in-law, Theresa Wantz of Emmitsburg and Terry Coblentz; his former wife Patti Wantz of Smithsburg; and his parents-in-law, Roger and Carol Gray. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
