Janice Waneta Powell Obituary
We are sad to announce that on March 15, 2021, at the age of 89, Janice Waneta Powell (Thurmont, Maryland) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Curtis L. "Buddy" Powell Sr.; her parents, John Robert Nunemaker and Mary Louise Nunemaker (Sweeney); her daughters, Pamela Willard (Powell) and Diana Stultz (Powell); her siblings, Betty Shafer, Virginia Knott, James, Charles Nunemaker and Doris Dougherty; and her siblings-in-law, Calvin Shafer, Allen Knott, Bud Dougherty, Mildred Nunemaker and Betty Lewis.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Plumley (Bill), Kay Sims (Mike), Patty Sweeney (John), Susan Crouse (Eddie), Dave Powell and Curtis Powell Jr.; her son-in-law Ronald Stultz; her grandchildren, James, Lisa, Jeff, Chad, Scott, Matthew, Chasity, Andrea, Alyvia and Zachary; her sisters, Sarah Stambaugh (Sam) and Barbara; and her sisters-in-law, Stella and Bev Nunemaker. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Pioneer Baptist Church, 13802 Long Road, Thurmont on Friday, March 19 from 6 to 8 p. m. Please wear masks and observe social distancing.
