He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Doris Jean Unger Portner; his parents, Roy Portner and Eva Portner; his children, Larry Wayne Portner of Waynesboro, PA and Linda Darlene Murrell of Thurmont; his brother Charles "Charlie" Portner of Braddock Heights; his grandchildren, Susan Kinnaird of Thurmont, Michael Hahn of Thurmont, Nichole Bethurem of Los Molinos, CA, Lauren Hovart of Waynesboro, Elizabeth Fleagle of Thurmont, L. W., Jason Portner of Waynesboro, Shane and Corinna Portner of Frederick; and his siblings, Mary Doris "Dot" Gladhill, Francis Portner, Harry "Duke" Portner and John Portner. He was also cherished by great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.
