He is survived by: his wife Hazel B. Monroe; his daughter Shellie Monroe; his sister Freda Scott-Giles; his granddaughter SieAera Monroe; and his cousins, Florence Lewis and Tommie Smith (Carol). He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
