We bid farewell to George Randolph Shirley Sr. (Temple Hills, Maryland), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 8, 2024 at the age of 77. George touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He is survived by: his wife Betty Jean Shirley; his children, George Randolph Jr. (Bowie, MD), Lavonia E. Bunkey Shirley (Fort Washington, MD), Michael Terrell (La Plata, MD) and Herschel D. (Fort Washington, MD); his brothers, Archie M. Spruill, Adolphus H. Spruill (Loretta) and Joseph R. Spruill (Sandra); his in-laws, Henry (Ozella), James (Carolyn), Freddie McDuffie (Juanita), Barbara Lowe (Bruce), Janie Spruill and Georgia McDuffie; his aunt Jean Reeves; his friends, Robert and Brenda Jeter; and also John Richardson. He is also survived by five grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
Viewing was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Deliverance Free Will Baptist Church (3915 Holly Tree Rd, Temple Hills, MD 20748). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery (11301 Crain Hwy, Cheltenham, MD 20623).
