He was predeceased by: his parents, Christian Koester and Marie Koester (Dupre); his brother Robert Koester; and his sister-in-law Ann. He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his children, Christopher Koester (Nicole) of Glen Burnie, MD, Barbara Ross (Tim) of Federalsburg, MD and Ellen Blair (Robert III) of Codorus, PA; his brothers, Edwin Koester (Sandy) of Springfield, IL and Joseph Koester (Pat) of Scranton, PA; and his grandchildren, Ryan, Nathaniel "Nate", Maggie and Robby. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
