John Koontz Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Koontz of Taneytown, Maryland, born in Hanover, Pennsylvania, who passed away on June 12, 2020 at the age of 68. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Edward Koontz, Sr. and Dorothy Koontz (Gillenwater); and his brother Paul Koontz, Jr.. He is survived by: his daughters, Sherrie Tackett (Rodney) of Westminster and Laura Livingston (Michael) of Hampstead; his fiancée Crystal Becker of Taneytown; his sister-in-law Yvonne "Vonnie" Koontz of Taneytown; his grandchildren, Olivia and Matthew; and his nieces, Paula and Pam.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private funeral service will be held on Tuesday with burial to follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Taneytown Volunteer Fire Company, 39 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD 21787.
