It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kenneth Edward Jones of Takoma Park, Maryland, who passed away on January 10, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Emery Jones and Marjorie Dawes Jones; and his siblings, Ralph Wallace Jones, Josephine Elizabeth Chapman (Jo) and Gwendolyn.
He is survived by: his close friend Dianne Jackson; his children, Kenneth Jones (Ricky), Scott Sheldon Thomas (Cathy), Vanetta (Calvin) and Pamela Richardson (Lennie); his grandchildren, Brittany, Jayln, Jalise, Donovan, Silas, Lyree, Twantius and Calandrea; and his cousin Roland Dawes. He is also survived by five great grandchildren, along with eighteen nieces.
Viewing will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lee Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Church (4115 Plyers Mill Rd, Kensington, MD 20895). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at the Rock Creek Cemetery (201 Allison St NW, Washington, DC 20011).
