She was predeceased by: her parents, Archie P. Norfolk and Edna V. Norfolk (Wilkerson); her husband Carl Ireland Denton; her son Vernon Denton; and her grandson Ronnie Denton.

She is survived by: her children, Johnny Denton (Brenda) of Mechanicsville, Ronnie Denton of Sunderland and Carol Phillips (Charles) of Chesapeake Beach; and her grandchildren, Michael Phillips, Susan Chaney, Jamie Cochran, Joshua Denton, John Denton, Albert Lyon and CJ Denton. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
