He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund Schumacher and Helene Blotzer Schumacher (Lena); his wife Carolyn Schumacher (Bryant); his siblings, Barbara Barch, Margaret Lazzari and Philip Barch; and his nephew Philip Barch.

He is survived by: his children, Deneen Calabrese (Tom) of Bridgeville, Charles Schumacher (Lani) of Denton, MD and Andrew Schumacher (Jennifer) of Stevensville, MD.
