It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Childers of Smithsburg, Maryland, born in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, who passed away on March 10, 2024, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Leroy Smith and Margaret Ella Childers Smith. He is survived by: his significant other Catherine Meldron; his children, Tara Houser (Edward) and Doug Childers; his stepdaughter Amanda Turner; his grandchildren, William Stoey, Wyatt Childers, Constance Houser, Makenzie Houser, Addisyn Houser, Kayla Franklin, Ce'Asia Nelson and Paisleigh Childers; his great grandchildren, Nyelle and A'Laya; and his siblings, Fred Smith Jr., Rusty Smith, Billy Smith, Desiree Smith, Threaso Smith, Melissa Smith, Tina Smith and Misty Everly. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
