He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Earl Verdier and S. Isabel Verdier (Lowman); his son Ray A. Verdier; and his brothers, Earl "John" Verdier and James "Barry" Verdier.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn J. Verdier (Burgesser); his children, Ricky L. Verdier, Bobby L. Verdier (Barbara) and Tara J. Burchett (Edward); his siblings, Jerry "Bird" Verdier, Linda Welsh (Wrennis) and Maryanne Verdier (Steve); and his grandchildren, Dane Verdier, Heather Verdier, Kaela Palmer and Tiffany Burchett. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
