John Lowell Shank Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Lowell Shank (Smithsburg, Maryland), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 5, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though John may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those John touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Garrett E. Shank and Margaret Louise Shank (Hastings); his wife Ruth A. Shank; his son Johnnie Shank; and his brothers, Harold Shank and Medford Shank.
He is survived by: his daughter Ruth Ann Martin (Darwin); his grandson Joshua Martin; and his brother Jacob Shank (Gene). He is also survived by numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, and nieces.
