He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl O. Cowan and Anna Catherine Cowan (Spessard); his wife Norma J. Cowan; and his brothers, Ronald T. Cowan and Melvin E. "Pete" Cowan.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cheryl Frush (Ron) of Fountain Hills, Tonya Harp (David) of Stephens City and Lisa Tebbs of Conway; his siblings, Patty Willard (Paul), Shirley King and Orlan Cowan (Pat); and his grandchildren, Kyle Harp and Kaitlyn Harp. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
